Social media profiles, in today’s day and age are usually the first "landing page" that customers would encounter. So as the saying goes, first impressions count. Make your potential customer want to read up and enjoy the profile.
Personally, companies are definitely not wasting their time with social media profiles. Saying this from the point of "don’t waste time, be strategic" I would say that having a social media profile as a company is great, if it’s managed correctly.

Clients should be educated in relation to these factors, as this is a risk that they will be taking and the same can be said for the company. None the less, in today’s technologically advanced society factors as mentioned above can be dealt with especially on a corporate level due to privatised information.
